Our Story

Tyler and Dani met in 2015 while attending their first year of Animation at Sheridan College. After their first conversation, Dani specifically remembers thinking “Wow, I think I could be really good friends with this Tyler guy.” In a way, she was right. They continued to chat every once in a while, and always looked forward to seeing each other in the studio or at parties. Tyler realized in first year that this spark between them could possibly grow into something more, while Dani was still oblivious to any possible feelings she may have had—but was definitely NOT oblivious to the crush Tyler had on her. Her roommates especially loved to point out any time Tyler tried to catch a glimpse of where she was at a party.

The turning point for them was in their third year of Animation, when, as fate would have it, they were placed in the same classes. Now, they were interacting with each other all day, every day, instead of at the occasional party or run-in at school. The constant contact lead to more hanging out, including movie marathons with friends (which Dani secretly planned so she could see Tyler more). Eventually Dani also developed a crush on Tyler, which lead to their first date right before winter break: Christmas shopping at the Oakville mall the day before she flew back home to Alberta. They texted every day during that Christmas break, and when Dani flew back to Oakville two weeks later, she was FINALLY ready to MAYBE start dating Tyler. 

Ever since coming back from that Christmas break in 2018, they’ve barely spent any time apart. They continued school together, graduated in 2019, and both got jobs in Vancouver, where they rode out the Covid lockdowns together in their tiny apartment. In 2020 they adopted their dog, Bert, who accompanied them on many mountain hikes and Seawall strolls. Finally, after 3 years in Vancouver together, they decided to move back to Ontario in order to be closer to friends and family. Dani, Tyler, and Bert piled into their car, drove across the country, and settled in Hamilton, where they’ve been living happily ever since!
